Local perception of the current state and threat factors of a critically endangered species, Celtis toka (Forssk.) Hepper & J.R.I. Wood, in Burkina Faso: implications for species conservation

Celtis toka , the only species of genus (family Cannabaceae) encountered in flora Burkina Faso, is critically endangered country. To engage public for future conservation and domestication species, knowledge factors threatening survival necessary. Thus, study objective was to identify perceptions local people concerning current state strategies Faso. investigate potential solutions threats posed we randomly surveyed 405 consenting participants using a selected semi-structured interview. Moreover, field observations were performed assess threat drivers cited by Sudanian Sudano-Sahelian climatic zones.
